“Towards an ASAS-Global Network: Next Steps”

Angelicum Congress Centre Largo Angelicum 1, Roma This interim workshop is sponsored and organised by EUROCONTROL in cooperation with the FAA and with the help of ENAV. The object is to provide an update on recent ASAS (Airborne Separation Assistance System) progress and to bridge the gap between the ASAS-TN2 and the proposed FAA/EUROCONTROL ASAS-GN. The workshop is organised over two days and 4 sessions, each session will allow time for discussions.

Day 1 Wednesday 12th November (Registration from 08:30)

Session 1 will report on SESAR and NextGen and will compare and contrast their developing concepts. There will also be reports on developments and implementation plans for ADS-B in Europe, Australia and Japan.

14:30 - Session 2: ASAS Trial Results and Implementation Paths
Session 2 will continue with reports on global ASAS activities, concentrating on the results of the most recent implementations, in particular the results of UPS’s implementation at Louisville and their business case, the work on ASAS by KDC at Schiphol, the use of ASAS by LFV at Arlanda. It will also cover recent results from the CRISTAL-ITP Project and the work being done on ITP in the USA.

Airborne Separation and Self Separation
Session 3, led by the FAA/EUROCONTROL Action Plan 23 team, will report on developing concepts of airborne
separation and self separation. This will be followed by reports on recent work by NASA on flight deck functionality and
the work of the iFly consortium on self separation.
